Sandoval appointed to Senate leadership

Senate President John J. Cullerton appoints Illinois State Senator Martin A. Sandoval to Senate Democratic Leadership as Majority Caucus Whip

CHICAGO, IL – Effective January 31, Senate President John J. Cullerton announced Illinois State Senator Martin A. Sandoval has been appointed to Senate Democratic Leadership as Majority Caucus Whip. Sandoval is eager for the opportunity to represent his constituents within his new leadership role.

“I am honored to be appointed to be a member of President Cullerton’s leadership team,” Sandoval said. “I will continue to use the opportunities given to me to represent the interests of the families and children I care about so deeply.”

Senator Sandoval represents the 11th Legislative District and has served in the Illinois Senate since 2003. He serves as the Chairman of Senate Transportation Committee and is member of the Energy and Public Utilities Committee, Gaming Committee, Licensed Activities and Pensions Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee.

Senator Sandoval represents the neighborhoods of Brighton Park, Clearing, Gage Park, Garfield Ridge, Little Village, West Lawn, and West Cook municipalities of Bedford Park, Burbank, Cicero, Forest View, Lyons, McCook, Stickney, Summit and Riverside.
